An outreach youth work model of intervention in rural communities for vulnerable young people and adults aged 16 to 25 years aiming to improve their health and wellbeing including mental health.  In addition to providing support to individuals, staff will engage with family members if requested to provide a social prescribing model of assistance to help them raise their aspirations as a family unit.   Staff will work in partnership with community based organisations and mentor young people and adults helping to build their confidence and gain the essential skills to become active citizens in their community and beyond.

Social Economy Growth Fund 'Strong Connections'

Providing fun and interactive activities in communities throughout East Ayrshire; a dedicated team of yipworld staff are on hand to help individuals and their families to build confidence, meet new people, learn new skills and become active citizens within their communities.

Activities such as family movie nights, joint cooking and baking classes, messy play, walking and cycling groups and more are designed to be engaging and accessible. Furthermore, our dedicated Careers Adviser provides a host of support for parents and young people; from help finding and applying for jobs to advice and support with Universal Credit, we can ensure that you find the support you require.

Staff are currently in; Rankinston on Mondays, Netherthird on Tuesdays, Muirkirk on Thursdays and New Cumnock on Fridays.

Employability Support and Programmes

Yipworld’s dedicated Careers Advisor is available on a weekly basis for employability support and advice, with help available in CV writing, job searching, the submission of applications, volunteering opportunities, college and university applications, finding work experience and more. Pop in or make an appointment for some tailored advice. We also run a range of employability based programmes throughout the year, usually lasting for around 10 weeks. Primary and Secondary Schools

Yipworld staff work in primary schools through Ayrshire, delivering programmes which develop confidence and self-esteem, health and wellbeing, online safety and general engagement.

Informal learning includes workshops, activities and games to engage pupils and is tailored to each school’s needs and can include working on a one-to-one basis and in small groups for some of the pupils in need of more intensive support.

Yipworld’s work in schools is developed to compliment the curriculum for excellence and to support schools in ensuring that their pupils are safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, active, respected, responsible and included.

In secondary schools throughout Ayrshire, yipworld provide an alternative curriculum with modules covering a range of topics including basic life skills and independent living, employability and preparation for work, money management and more, culminating in the award of SCQF points. Delivery is complimented by workshops and activities aimed to engage pupils and reinforce learning.
